How to One-Click Clean the C Drive with Tools
From download to one-click run, with safety rules and whitelists set up first.
Want one-click convenience? Set guardrails before hitting Start.
- Choose an ad-free portable build with preview; run as admin to avoid install residue.
- After scan, review the list—whitelist Desktop/Documents/repos immediately.
- Common whitelist:
.gradle,npm-cache, certificate folders, VPN configs, Desktop, Documents, source repos. - Select update cache, temp files, browser/WeChat cache; confirm the expected free space.
- Save the report to D: or cloud for traceability; on work PCs, send to IT.
- Worried about mistakes? Run “dry-run” to get a list first, then clean for real.
One-click can be safe if setup is solid.
If cleanup fails
- Possibly permissions: run as Administrator.
- Possibly file locks: close browser/WeChat/games and retry.
- Possibly missing whitelist: if something’s gone, restore from backup/Recycle Bin, then add the path to whitelist.
Local tip
In northern winters with low voltage, plug in laptops before one-click—avoid sleeping mid-run.
Fallback
If errors occur, try cleaning only temp dirs first; if still failing, switch to portable build or Safe Mode—usually works.
Make a habit: screenshot the freed-space stats after each run—good reference and proof.
